Commission for a companion for a cat, a dragon on some wedding invites and relatexing some weapons and making some larp replicas.
In other news: my councilor tells me I'm charging too little for my art: Instead of buying cards or presents (cos I'm cheap) I make cards or draw presents instead. Self esteem issues and depression has devalued my work, and chucking it into the wind here and having no comments and few favourites doesn't help much.
What am I doing wrong? I need to draw more (hurr derr) but that is tricky when I have a mucky house with stuff that always needs putting away. I need to charge more (£6/8 per hour is unacceptable my councilor says, and so is £16 per hour... just) How should I value my own work when I know friends can't necessarily afford it? Sure, I'll charge a bit more for all those corporate commissions I'm getting...... tumbleweed..... crickets chirp.....

Invisibility powers have kicked in and I spend hours drawing and posting work for no good reason.
I'd open for commissions but I don't think anyone would notice.

Realised I probably ought to get on with the requests for art people have asked for, also hadn't noticed they're in 3 different mediums. Happy co-incidence that.
I suspect two of them may have been forgotten about and probably ought to get in touch. Then again there's a crap load of stuff I ought to be doing. I've pretty much done bugger all since graduating, bar fixing larp weapons, cleaning the house, washing up, washing clothes, and play Wow a bit.
So works in progress are a logo for Patch, a brother and sister portrait for a friend, and another pair portrait. And gaining all the vanity pets in WoW.... and levelling to 90.

Some of you may have noticed I've bunged a couple more pics up here. I am somewhat disappointed that one was favourited, and the user who did that was then perm banned. They tried to enter a dialog with the artist to get them to go to a website and download some file or other but the whole thing was very fishy. Does nothing to help my self worth that they only favourited the work for nefarious purposes rather than it being good. Oh yeah, black dog is kinda snuffling round as I have a bit of a cold and this always sets my chronic ear ache off being worse thus putting me in a crappy mood.

Guess I ought to put some more work up here.Currently working on my Final Major Project for my BA course, an A to Z of inventions and discoveries round the home, for which I have pitiful amounts of work currently. Also working on some editorials for which I will post a couple of works in progress here. Think I may have scuppered myself with one of my choices: an editorial in The Economist about euphamisms. I really try not to have text in my work, so this will be a toughie. In other news, I've had a Dyslexia test (I'm finding it harder to read than I used to, much to my friends who lend me books chagrin), and handed in my dissertation (what a ball ache). I've also accidently done some gardening where I went out to the garden to pop out some tea leaves on the soil, and the end of a loaf of bread on the bird feeder (for which I gain few birds) and I decided to repot the rose Paul bought for me for Valentines. We've gotten into the habit of him buying me a plant that might live longer than a week in a vase. We also picked up some gladiola bulbs that I bunged in some planters. I also planted some rather crunchy dafodil bulbs that I suspect have gone to the great compost heap in the sky. I think I pulled them out our previous garden  a few years ago and hadn't planted them.
Anyway, this was kind of procrastination for my work to do my assessment next week for which the tutor is expecting to see some work on my editorials and my FMP. I note with mild interest that the editorial I thought I'd finished, the tutor pointed out some issues, so it's back to the Wacom pad for that.
Happily, the book for the Cul De Sac comic tribute is being printed and pre ordered currently, and my work has managed to sneak in amongst Bill Watterson, Bill Holbrook, Sergio Arragones, Dave Kellet, and a whole heap of amazing artists. I still can't beleive I got in. teamculdesac.blogspot.com/ has updates on the book and a full list of contributors. This book celebrates Richard Thompsons brilliant and whimsical Cul De Sac comic. An artist worthy of several accolades, comparable in talent with Searle, Watterson, Hirshfield and Steadman.
Proceeds go towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation, to support Parkinson's Disease research.

Other projects on the go will include an illustration for a poem from the Creative Writing group at the uni, and Blizzard have another competition to illustrate one the heros for Diablo 3.  Oh and a D&AD competition for advertising a bra fitting service, which ironically are too small for me :)

Comicon 2011

1 min read
Just found out yesterday that the Thane Krios pic I did for the Bioware Fanart Contest was short listed in the 260 odd out of over a thousand other entries to be printed and displayed up at Comicon in San Diego this year, and put on their Facebook page for people to vote for. He got 58 "likes" and some amusing comments. Guess I should have remembered to check that earlier :D Still, work picked in the top 5% ain't bad.
